This month we uploaded a variety a photos from many different places in the world.

Our home town of Kailua Kona Hawaii never ceases to amaze us with its wildlife this month we added in excellent shots of our wild cetaceans: false killer whales, Pseudorca crassidens, and rough toothed dolphins, Steno bredanensis, underwater.

Canada came through with images from Nova Scotia with longline fishermen pulling in porbeagle sharks, Lamna nasus, in a legal and managed fishery. On the Pacific side we had sixgill sharks, Hexanchus griseus, and spotted ratefish, Hydrolagus colliei, in Puget Sound off of Seattle Washington.

Australia is always teeming with marine life. We now have pictures of the HMAS Brisbane a navy destroyer sunk as an artificial reef off of Queensland, Australia. Australian pelicans, Pelecanus conspicillatus, are an interesting looking bird and bottlenose dolphins, Tursiops truncatus at the famous Monkey Mia in Western Australia.

We have more great white sharks pictures underwater in Guadalupe, Mexico and cave diving images from Dos Ojos, Cenote, Riviera Maya, Yucutan Peninsula, in Mexico.

The Azores may be a remote location in the Atlantic Ocean but the cetaceans seem to love it. These islands attract many rare and interesting species of whales and dolphins.

It seems ever month we expand our collection of interesting species and fish behaviors from the Lembeh Strait in Northern Sulawesi, Indonesia and also from Papua New Guinea as the soft coral reefs and macro shots fascinate our photographers.

This month though our Japanese underwater photographers have come through with massive quantities of images from all over Japan. They have fascinating fish including the rare and unusual oarfish, Regalecus glesne or russelii, a deep sea fish and very odd looking. We received images of Lion’s mane jelly fish, Cyanea nozakii, sea nettles, Chrysaora melanster, pyrosome, Pyrosoma atlanticum, flower hat jellyfish, Olindias formosa, and the sea angel, Clione limacine. The images came from: Kagoshima, Shikine Jima Island, Sagami Bay, Shizuoka, Ushi-Jima Island, Yamaguchi, Chichi-Jima, Bonin Islands, Ogasawara, Ushi-Jima Island, Yamaguchi, Sagami Bay, Shizuoka, Shiretoko, Hokkaido, Miyako Jima Island, Ryukyu Islands, Okinawa. The marine life was great but don’t forget looking at our new images of Japanese macaque or snow monkeys bathing in hot springs, Macaca fuscata, - super cute – you just have to see it.

We love our tigers here – white Bengal tigers that is – check out our new images.

And finally, from the Atlantic Ocean we have great pictures from Palm Beach, Florida and the Bahamas.
